Kayla Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts from Stephan F. Austin University and has more than 10 years of experience working in education-based roles. She loves finding creation in everyday life. She uses her creative background to engage students with inventive activities/projects that challenge students to explore outside of the box.

She is currently an Education Impact Coordinator for the Sawubona-based school programming. Sawubona means “I value you, I see you.”. This meaning carries through to the work Kayla does at her elementary school site / and facilitating parent affinity groups. Her work encompasses cultivating culturally specific groups, providing mentorship, and offering academic support to students.  This support allows students /parents/guardians to flourish through/after their participation in the Sawubonas program, helping build confidence and community.

“Representation truly matters, show up and show out for your community” -  Kayla Kelly
